Accufine 30mg (isotretinoin) capsules are a potent retinoid used to treat severe, nodular, or persistent acne that has failed other treatments. Taken orally with food once or twice daily, it significantly reduces oil production and inflammation. Common side effects include dry lips, skin, and eyes, requiring intensive hydration and sun protection. 

Gabapentin 300mg Capsules are oral prescription medications used primarily to treat neuropathic pain, epilepsy, and certain other neurological conditions.  Each capsule contains 300 mg of gabapentin, a medication structurally related to GABA (gamma-aminobutyric acid), though it does not act directly on GABA receptors.  Instead, gabapentin binds to a specific site on voltage-gated calcium channels in the central nervous system, reducing the release of excitatory neurotransmitters that contribute to pain and seizures. 

• Primary Uses:

  • Treatment of peripheral neuropathic pain (e.g., painful diabetic neuropathy, post-herpetic neuralgia). 

  • Adjunctive therapy for partial seizures with and without secondary generalization in adults and children aged 6 years and above. 

  • Off-label use for fibromyalgia, restless legs syndrome, and other chronic pain conditions. 

• Dosage & Administration:

  • Typically started at a low dose (e.g., 300 mg once daily) and gradually increased over several days to minimize side effects.

  • Recommended to be taken three times daily (every 8 hours) to maintain consistent blood levels.

  • Can be taken with or without food; swallowed whole with water. 

  • Do not stop abruptly—discontinuation should be gradual over at least one week to avoid withdrawal symptoms. 

• Key Considerations:

  • Renal function significantly affects gabapentin clearance; dosage must be adjusted in patients with kidney impairment or those undergoing hemodialysis.

  • Elderly patients (over 65) may require lower doses due to age-related decline in renal function.

  • Pregnancy and breastfeeding: Use only if benefits outweigh risks; limited human data suggest potential risk to the baby.

  • Alcohol: Should be avoided due to increased risk of drowsiness and dizziness.

  • Serious side effects: Include severe skin reactions (e.g., Stevens-Johnson syndrome, toxic epidermal necrolysis), mood changes, or suicidal thoughts—seek medical attention immediately if these occur. 

• Inactive Ingredients:
  Corn starch, gelatin, magnesium stearate, mannitol, sodium lauryl sulfate, talc, titanium dioxide, ferric oxide yellow, potassium hydroxide, propylene glycol, shellac, and other colorants (varies by manufacturer). 

• Form & Appearance:
  Hard-shell capsules, white to off-white, often imprinted with codes like "D" and "03" or "300mg;OE;B57", depending on the manufacturer.  Size and color may vary slightly by brand.

Key precautions include staying hydrated to prevent kidney stones, avoiding sudden discontinuation, and monitoring for side effects like dizziness, fatigue, or cognitive impairment.
