Gabapentin 800 mg tablets are white to off-white, modified capsule-shaped, biconvex, film-coated tablets with a deep break line on both sides.  They are scored to allow for division into equal doses and are debossed with "SG" on one side and "178" on the other side. The tablet measures approximately 19 mm in length and is available in bottles containing 100 tablets. 

These tablets are used to treat partial seizures (with or without secondary generalization) in adults and children aged 6 years and above, and for peripheral neuropathic pain such as painful diabetic neuropathy and post-herpetic neuralgia.  The recommended starting dose for adults and adolescents (12+ years) is 300 mg three times a day, with gradual dose increases based on individual response and tolerability.  The maximum daily dose is typically 3,600 mg, divided into three doses, with no more than 12 hours between doses. 

Pregabanyl 300 Capsules are a prescription medication containing 300 mg of Pregabalin, an anti-convulsant used primarily to treat neuropathic pain, epilepsy, fibromyalgia, and generalized anxiety disorder. 

• Uses:

  • Relief of nerve pain from diabetic peripheral neuropathy, postherpetic neuralgia (shingles), spinal cord injury, and other conditions.

  • Treatment of partial-onset seizures in adults (used alongside other anti-seizure medications).

  • Management of widespread muscle pain and stiffness in fibromyalgia.

  • Treatment of generalized anxiety disorder (GAD) in adults. 

• How It Works:
  Pregabalin binds to the alpha2-delta site on voltage-gated calcium channels in the central nervous system. This reduces calcium influx into nerve terminals, decreasing the release of neurotransmitters involved in pain signaling and seizure activity, thereby calming overactive nerve pathways. 

• Dosage & Administration:

  • Typically taken twice or three times daily, as prescribed by a physician. 

  • Can be taken with or without food. 

  • Dose is usually started low (e.g., 150 mg/day) and gradually increased based on response and tolerance, up to a maximum of 600 mg/day.

  • Do not stop suddenly; tapering is required to avoid
