Gabapentin 1000mg Capsule is a prescription medication classified as an anticonvulsant and neuropathic pain reliever.  It contains gabapentin, a white to off-white crystalline solid with the molecular formula C₉H₁₇NO₂ and a molecular weight of 171.24.  The active ingredient works by binding to a specific site on voltage-gated calcium channels, reducing the release of excitatory neurotransmitters in the brain and spinal cord. This action helps to decrease abnormal electrical activity, making it effective for managing epilepsy (partial seizures with and without secondary generalization) and neuropathic pain (such as painful diabetic neuropathy and post-herpetic neuralgia). 

The capsule is typically orange or orange-colored, size 0, and imprinted with identifying codes (e.g., "105", "APO;114", "D;04", or "H/G3" depending on the manufacturer).  It contains gabapentin 400 mg as the active ingredient and various inactive components, including lactose monohydrate, corn starch, talc, gelatin, titanium dioxide, and iron oxides (yellow and red).  It is available in different formulations and brands (e.g., Gabapin, Gabapentin Amarox, Neurontin), with packaging typically including 10, 30, or 90 capsules per bottle.
