Mebendazole 500mg Tablet is a broad-spectrum anthelmintic medication used to treat intestinal worm infections caused by parasites such as roundworms (Ascaris lumbricoides), whipworms (Trichuris trichiura), hookworms (Necator americanus and Ancylostoma duodenale), pinworms, and threadworms.  It is available in various formulations, including chewable tablets (e.g., Vermox Chewable, Benda 500, KHRIZVER) and standard tablets (e.g., Mebex 500mg), often marketed under brand names like Benda 500, Mebex, and Vermox. 

The tablet works by inhibiting glucose absorption in worms, depriving them of energy and leading to their death.  It also disrupts microtubule structures in the parasite’s cells, impairing their ability to survive and reproduce.  The recommended dose is a single 500mg tablet taken orally, chewed completely or dissolved in water if needed, for patients one year of age and older.  It can be taken with or without food.
