Clarithromycin Tablets I.P. 250 mg are oral tablets containing 250 mg of clarithromycin, a semi-synthetic macrolide antibiotic used to treat various bacterial infections. 

• Form and Appearance: Light yellow, oval-shaped, biconvex, film-coated tablets, debossed with "D" on one side and "62" on the other (as per Aurobindo Pharma product). 

• Active Ingredient: Clarithromycin (C₃₈H₆₉NO₁₃), a white to off-white crystalline powder, practically insoluble in water. 

• Inactive Ingredients: Microcrystalline cellulose, croscarmellose sodium, hypromellose, magnesium stearate, polyethylene glycol 400, polysorbate 80, povidone, talc, and titanium dioxide. 

• Indications:

  • Lower and upper respiratory tract infections (e.g., bronchitis, pneumonia, sinusitis, pharyngitis).

  • Skin and soft tissue infections (e.g., cellulitis, folliculitis).

  • Acute otitis media.

  • Treatment and prophylaxis of Mycobacterium avium complex (MAC) infections.

  • Eradication of Helicobacter pylori in combination with proton pump inhibitors and other antibiotics for duodenal ulcer disease.
