Each tablet contains Levofloxacin Hemihydrate equivalent to 750 mg of Levofloxacin, the active ingredient. Tinidazole 500 mg tablets are oral medications used to treat various infections caused by protozoa and anaerobic bacteria. Each tablet contains 500 mg of tinidazole, a synthetic antiprotozoal and antibacterial agent. The tablets are typically film-coated, off-white to pale yellow, modified oval, and scored for easy splitting.
Key UsesTrichomoniasis: A single 2 g dose (four 500 mg tablets) is recommended for both male and female patients; concurrent treatment of sexual partners is advised.
Bacterial Vaginosis (BV): A 2 g dose daily for 2 days or a 1 g dose daily for 5 days is effective. Some protocols combine it with boric acid and probiotics.
Giardiasis: A single 2 g dose (four tablets) is used for intestinal infection.
Amoebiasis:
Intestinal: 2 g daily for 2–3 days.
Liver abscess: 1.5–2 g daily for 3–6 days, depending on severity.
Anaerobic Infections: Initial 2 g dose on day 1, followed by 1 g daily for 5–6 days. Used for peritonitis, sepsis, pneumonia, post-operative infections, and gynecological infections.
H. pylori Eradication: 500 mg twice daily for 7 days, combined with omeprazole and clarithromycin.
Post-operative Infection Prophylaxis: A single 2 g dose 12 hours before surgery.
Take with food to reduce gastrointestinal side effects.
Do not crush or chew unless instructed by a pharmacist.
Avoid alcohol during treatment and for at least 72 hours after stopping to prevent a disulfiram-like reaction (flushing, nausea, vomiting, tachycardia).
Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to tinidazole or other nitroimidazoles, blood dyscrasias, or organic neurological disorders.
Pregnancy & Breastfeeding: Contraindicated in the first trimester; use cautiously in later stages. Avoid breastfeeding for at least 3 days after discontinuation.
Neurological Effects: Dizziness, vertigo, or ataxia may occur; discontinue if symptoms develop.
Renal Impairment: Dose adjustment generally not needed, but patients on hemodialysis may require additional doses.
