Eszopiclone Tablets USP 3 mg are dark blue, round, biconvex, film-coated tablets, debossed with "E" on one side and "3" on the other side.  They are available in strengths of 1 mg, 2 mg, and 3 mg for oral administration and are used to treat insomnia by helping individuals fall asleep faster and stay asleep throughout the night. 

• Active Ingredient: Eszopiclone 3 mg

• Inactive Ingredients: Croscarmellose sodium, hypromellose, lactose monohydrate, magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose, polyethylene glycol, titanium dioxide, triacetin, and FD&C Blue No. 2 (in 1 mg and 3 mg tablets). 

• Dosage: The maximum recommended dose is 3 mg once daily, immediately before bedtime.  It should not exceed 3 mg, and lower doses are recommended for elderly or debilitated patients (≤2 mg) and those with severe hepatic impairment or taking potent CYP3A4 inhibitors.

• Key Warnings:

  • Complex sleep behaviors (e.g., sleepwalking, sleep-driving, sleep-eating) may occur, sometimes without memory of the event.  Discontinue immediately if such behaviors occur.

  • Next-day impairment (drowsiness, reduced alertness) is possible, especially with 2 mg or 3 mg doses; avoid driving or operating machinery the next day.
