TAGRISSO is indicated for the treatment of patients with metastatic epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) T790M mutation-positive non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), as detected by an FDA-approved test, who have progressed on or after EGFR tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI) therapy.

Fluorouracil Injection IP 250 mg 5ml is a chemotherapy medication used to treat various types of cancer, including breast, colon, rectum, stomach (gastric), pancreatic, and esophageal cancers.  It belongs to a class of drugs known as antimetabolites, which work by interfering with the DNA and RNA synthesis in cancer cells, thereby stopping their ability to multiply and eventually leading to cell death. 

The active ingredient, fluorouracil (250 mg), specifically inhibits the enzyme thymidylate synthase, which is essential for DNA production.  This disruption prevents cancer cells from dividing and spreading.

• Administration: Must be administered intravenously (IV) by a qualified healthcare professional in a clinical or hospital setting. 

• Common Side Effects: Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, mouth sores, hair loss, loss of appetite, and reduced blood cell counts (anemia, low white blood cells, low platelets). 

• Contraindications: Not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding due to risk of fetal harm. Women and men of reproductive age must use effective contraception during treatment. 

• Precautions: Inform your doctor if you have liver or kidney problems, bone marrow suppression, heart disease, or a history of DPD (dihydropyrimidine dehydrogenase) deficiency. 

• Storage: Store below 25°C, protect from light, and keep out of reach of children.

It is a prescription-only medication and should only be used under strict medical supervision.  The exact dosage and treatment schedule are determined by the treating oncologist based on the type and stage of cancer.

Arimidex 1mg tablets (Anastrozole) are primarily used to treat hormone receptor-positive breast cancer in postmenopausal women. As an aromatase inhibitor, it reduces estrogen levels to slow or stop the growth of tumors. It is commonly used as adjuvant treatment for early breast cancer or as a first-line treatment for advanced/metastatic breast cancer. 

Jakavi (ruxolitinib) 5mg tablets are a prescription kinase inhibitor used to treat specific blood disorders and graft-versus-host disease (GvHD). It works by reducing spleen size and alleviating associated symptoms such as fever, pain, and night sweats. Jakavi is taken orally, typically twice daily with or without food. The appropriate dose is determined by a healthcare provider based on individual blood counts and the specific condition being treated. 

Calutide 50mg tablets, containing Bicalutamide, are used to treat advanced prostate cancer in adult men, often in combination with LHRH analog therapy or surgical castration. As a non-steroidal anti-androgen, it works by blocking testosterone from binding to cancer cells, thereby shrinking tumors and stopping cancer progression. 

Tamoxifen Citrate 20 mg is a nonsteroidal antiestrogen medication used primarily to treat hormone receptor-positive breast cancer in both pre- and postmenopausal women and men.  It is also indicated for the adjuvant treatment of node-positive breast cancer after surgery, the treatment of ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS), and the reduction of breast cancer incidence in high-risk women.  Additionally, it is used to stimulate ovulation in women with anovulatory infertility. 

Each tablet contains 30.4 mg of tamoxifen citrate, equivalent to 20 mg of tamoxifen, and is available as a white, round, biconvex, uncoated tablet, often scored and marked with "20" or "T20".  It is taken orally, typically once daily at a dose of 20 mg, and should be taken consistently for up to 5 years for optimal benefit in prevention and adjuvant therapy. 

Mechanism of Action: Tamoxifen works by binding to estrogen receptors in breast tissue, blocking the effects of estrogen, which can promote the growth of certain types of breast cancer. 

Key Points:

• Dosage: 20 mg once daily; higher doses (e.g., 30–40 mg) are not proven to offer additional benefit and are rarely used. 

• Duration: For primary prevention, 5 years is recommended; for adjuvant therapy, treatment is typically continued for 5–10 years. 

• Contraindications: Pregnancy, history of deep vein thrombosis or pulmonary embolism, and concurrent use with coumarin-type anticoagulants.

• Common Side Effects: Hot flashes, nausea, vaginal bleeding, menstrual irregularities, fatigue, and leg cramps. 

• Serious Risks: Increased risk of venous thromboembolism (VTE), endometrial cancer, and rare severe skin reactions (e.g., Stevens-Johnson syndrome).

• Precautions: Regular monitoring for blood clots, endometrial changes, and liver function is advised. It may reduce the effectiveness of birth control pills; non-hormonal contraception is recommended during treatment and for several months after stopping. 

Veenat 400 Tablet belongs to a class of drugs known as 'anti-cancer medication' containing Imatinib, primarily used to treat various cancer types. It is used to treat cancer of the blood (chronic myeloid leukaemia and acute lymphocytic leukaemia) and gastrointestinal stromal tumour.
